The documentary was produced based on interviews with young Brazilian students attending public schools in Rio de Janeiro conducted by Eduardo Coutinho before he passed away (in February 2014). The feature film was edited by Jordana Berg, who collaborated with Coutinho on many other projects, and finished by filmmaker João Moreira Salles, who produced every film by the director since the year 2000.
