BLACK AGAINST WHITE
Theatre Sesc Ipiranga

The documentary discusses racial prejudice in Brazil based on a classic amateur football match between residents of two neighbourhoods in the outskirts of São Paulo – São João Clímaco and the Heliópolis favela. In a highly mixed-race community where most of the population is made up of mulattoes, the peculiarity of the match is that players decide on their own race: each one states whether he is black or white and ‘picks his team’. Year: 2004. Length: 55 minutes. There will be a chat with Rappin Hood after the screening on both nights. Free. Tickets available one hour before screening– 200 seats.
